A newly elected assembly member for Sogakope South Electoral area in Sogakope within the South Tongu District of the Volta region, Marcus Mawutor Adzahli has been shot dead by unknown assassins in his private residence.
Residents indicated that, the attackers made it into the deceased's bedroom, where he was with his wife, they were both stabbed with knife, after which the husband was shot on the head and the wife sustaining multiple injuries.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to Class Media Group's Ho92.5FM
in the Volta region noted that, the incident happened at about 1am on Sunday, March 1, but the widow managed to contact the Police and neighbours after their attackers flee.
The widow later fell into coma and could not give enough details of the attack and currently under medical treatment at the Sogakope district Hospital.
Eyewitnesses said the widow is at the verge of life and death.
The deceased who was said to be in his 30s has been deposited at the same hospital, while Police has lunched an investigation into the development.
